true...but if you build the motor right then you cant go wrong with a boosted v-tec
|

There is always driver issues and didn't u say he just got it? Tell him to let me drive it
if I were him I'd check for boost leaks and get a tune t and try again

there is also the factor of tuning. when doing something major like a turbo added to the motor i'd get the motor tuned! this can yield lost hp/tq that can easily be obtaind through a tune.
